The 2019 football season started a little slow for the Stallions, but over the past couple of weeks things have turned in our favor. After a heart breaking overtime loss to Mitchell High School last weekend the Stallions came back home to take on Sand Creek High School. This is the first time Sierra has ever played football games on the campus of Sierra. For 35 years the Stallions have travelled across the district to play at D2 Memorial Stadium on the grounds of Harrison.
The Stallions pulled out the 16-14 victory last night against Sand Creek and etched their moment in history as they won the first ever Varsity football game on the Sierra High School campus. 35 years in the making the Stallions came out on top in a hard fought game by both sides.
This season has been a great moment for the Sierra community and all the alumni that have walked through the hallowed halls of Sierra. Pride has been reestablished and good things are on the horizon.
The green light has been given to start fundraising to build seating capacity that can hold all our fans at Sierra. A true football/soccer stadium on the grounds of Sierra will mean everything to the student body, the alumni, and the community. Information will be forthcoming on the fundraising efforts. We will need the support of alumni and community members to build something that everyone can call home. Remember, our students and school are worth of your investment!
