Boys Varsity Football · Sierra High School Ready to Host First Ever Varsity Football Game on Campus in 2019

In the 35 year history of Sierra High School the Stallion football team has never played a Varsity game at Sierra. During this time the football team has had to travel across the district to play games at the Veterans Memorial Stadium located on the Harrison High School campus.

All of that is about to change this year!

We are making history this upcoming football season by hosting home games for football where they should be. Home!

In an effort to revitalize the Sierra community and alumni base we are excited to shake things up and give us true home field advantage.

Over the course of the summer an effort has been made to get the field/stadium at Sierra ready for the first game. More bleachers have been moved onto both the home and visitor sides of the stadium. With the lack of a real press box a viewing platform for all coaches will be made available to get them the view they desire for filming and in game analysis. With on site bathrooms already available a couple of upgrades were made to make them more user friendly. The concession stand outside is being prepped and cleaned for all fans. We have sufficient parking on the west side of our school that should fit the needs of everyone coming to see our games.

We will also be making avaiable lawn chair sections on both sides of the stadium for fans that wish to relax in a comfortable setting and enjoy the game.

This is all the first step in a multi year process to make Sierra the permanent home for varsity football games. The buzz around the community and alumni network has been extremely positive. This is something that has been desired for a very long time at Sierra High School and we are proud to finally make it happen.

First game is August 30th at 7pm versus The Classical Academy. We are extremely thankful to the schools that will be traveling to us this year and sharing this experience with us. If it wasn’t for their support this wouldn’t be possible.
