If you haven’t had a chance to experience one of our girl’s soccer games this year there is still time to come out and see them play. For a team that doesn’t experience much success, they have built a reputation of sportsmanship and perseverance.
See the email we received from a teacher/parent in Canon City:
I am a teacher and parent in Canon City. My daughter is a senior defender on the Canon City soccer team. Last night Sierra and Canon City had a soccer match. While Canon won, and were able to defend our goal throughout the entire game I was impressed with the sportsmanship of the entire Sierra team. They never gave up; they never played dirty; they gave it their all clear through to the end of the game. We were not able to score the 10th point due to Sierra’s perseverance. Even our photographer who spent much of her time behind your goalie was impressed with the team. They played hard while positively interacting with our players and their own teammates. It was a pleasure to play against your team; you should be proud of how they represented themselves, their school and your community! The picture I have attached was taken when the score was 9:0. Your goalie was amazingly positive and never gave up or lost her positive attitude. I hope you are able to pass this comment along to all the players, their parents, and the coach. I am impressed!
We couldn’t be more proud of these girls and the heart they give every day they hit the soccer field.
